OK, so most guys don't care about this...but my last blackstone report had ALL very similar numbers (03 A4Vert DD with 77K and 8K on Mobil-1) except Iron was 45 and Lead 18. This sample was at the last third of the drain, so I'll keep an eye. Hopefully she is not "makin' metal"
Very good report for a medium mile engine, you should have a lot of life left in it. The major thing that shows is that the vast majority of Vette owners change their oil way too frequently. The modern synthetics combined with unleaded fuel will last a long time before requiring replacement.
I am pleased with the report. The 9,958-mile oil change was 72 miles past the 0% on the OLM (Based on the original 10k algorithm). Those miles were put on in a 12-week time frame. Approx 95% highway miles. The previous change I went 9,866 miles. I've put a little over 20k on my Vette in the last 5 mos, and it looks like that tread will continue for a little while longer.
That sample was taken after about 3½ - 4 qts had drained. The 1st 6 oil changes were with Mobil 1, the last last 5, including this one, have been Pennzoil. Filters have all been PF44s until this time, which I installed a WIX.
I do have a magnetic drain plug, which was absolutely clean, even though there is not much for it to pick up unless something serious is going on.
Well, with all the oil debates, I thought I would throw this out there.
