Oil Pressure Sender

It's buried behind the intake and they are known to have issues. Mine looked mint so I followed the old "if it ain't broke don't fix it" mindset.

My engine is all stock internals, only the mods listed in my sig. I'm sure you'd notice the improvement.

Were you able to reuse your old fuel rail covers? I am installing a LS6 intake as well and someone told me my 98 will need newer fuel rails.

Well, at least you're familiar with removing the intake now.

You don't need new fuel rails, you just can use the red coil covers.

That vacuum line in the back is a PITA.....I went ahead and removed the coolant lines and bought the plugs for the rear, wish I would have saw the post prior to doing the swap.

Yes, the intake was the ONLY part I changed. Stock 99 fuel rail covers fit without issue.

He has a 98, which means there are two lines to the fuel rail....one feed, one return. 97-98 fuel rail covers are unique, in that they have two slots for the lines.

I think it's a great idea to retain the crossover coolant tubes. The factory says you don't need them, but anything that helps equalize coolant temps is a good thing. I don't know if it really does this, but it's sure cheap and easy, and won't cause any harm.

I think the HARD part is finding a decent price on a LS6 intake!

You should of swapped out the valley pan for a LS6 one and gotten rid of the PVC hose fiasco! Down the line your hoses will deteriate, something to consider and a much improved cleanup of the engine bay, with that I would also recomend a oil catch can since you like to hit the gas peddle, this will eliminate a bunch of gunky oil going back into you nice LS6 intake!

As far as the fuel rails are concerned on the 98 you will need to remove the fuel rails on the LS1 intake and mount them on the LS6! They are a perfect fit (get some new O rings)! Anyone need the LS1 intake or LS6 fuel rail?
