Default New to this performance thing..here goes!

Gotta get my engine rebuilt! Sucks...only 54,000 miles...oil pressure issue...now engines knocking pretty bad. Putting it back together i want to go with a couple of performance parts...shooting for 420 rwhp. Will a cam, heads, and long tube headers, x pipe and ecm tune be enough? Plan on hitting the roads again in it by the end of June.

I assume your car is an automatic---If so it will take a bit more to hit 420 RWHP as the drive train loss is 10-12 % more
check my profile and see my mods--I am at 400 ish RWHP--
I assume you have a LS6 intake---If you don't--getting one is a MUST to hit over 400 RWHP---
Most all cams add from 30-50 RWHP---My .221/.221 added about 35--so you would need something in the .235 range---anything bigger would get you back into the reliable issue which I'm sure you don't want to go thru again !!
As far as the heads go--It all depends on your budget--You can get some as high as $2200 a pair and some STOCK 243 Z06 heads for only $650--I like the Patriot heads or TSP---kinda in the middle
While having the engine out---I would also recc the following--
LS6 valley cover ( for a better PCV system)
LS6 intake
Shaner ported T-body (send yours to him to have it done)
Some sort of a cold air intake
New better wires W/ TR55 plugs (NGK)
You still may fall a little short of 420-- If so-then i would go for a FAST 90/90 set-up ( intake and T-Body) pricy but may be the only way---
And finally if your car is an A4---The best mod you can get is a stall converter---Will make your car quicker without touching the engine and make it seem like 500 RWHP when you launch--For more of a DD type car weekend play car--I would get something in the 2500-3000 range---more serious or drag type car maybe 3200-3600 stall-
A stall will require an added quality trans oil cooler---AND most likely if you beat on it a lot your tranny will not hold up long with 420 RWP and will eventually need a Hi-performance rebuild that can handle the power---
If your car is a 6 speed--absolutely will need a better clutch---
tell us more about your car----

Thanks for info guys...well its a 1997 six speed with only 54,000 miles. Neglecting my low oil pressure light caused this and trust me...im kicking my self in the rear everyday all day cause of this. But lesson learned!
