Default C5 Z06 Overheating when AC On

I just bought the car yesterday, and I replaced the battery today as it was not holding charge.
Then I took for a ride, 5-7 miles with AC on, and the temp keept climbing to 240+, and when parked the reservoir was steaming and spraying a bit of coolant.

After the car cooled, I took it out with out the AC and the temp was around 220, more or less stable, but soon as I put the AC on it started climbing again.

Your help on what it could be would be greatly appreciate, as its my fist vette.

So can a bad reservoir cap raise temps? I see this more when AC goes on.

I think the fans are running, I can not see visibly but feel air in the compartment.
I have the procharger and intercooler, and one fan is on it, could not spot the others visibly. I can feel the air under the car. Where are they located?

I will look under again, to see debris, but seemed fine on quick glance earlier.

If you are blowing coolant at 240 deg, I would also check your coolant for Hydrocarbons. With the Procharger on it maybe the previous owner was a bit hard on it. Get a test kit at your parts store.

I just noticed when trying to check if both fan are turning on. I noticed on the left (facing from inside car) the fan comes on, but there is no fan on the right under procharger. Its seems the plate that goes accross but no fan.
The car has the A&A procharger setup with dewitts radiator w oil cooler.

Should I have two fans or Dewitts comes with single fan configuration.
Today in the city driving in 75F temp, the car was at 228F oil temp without AC. With AC it keeps climbing so I don't turn it on in city. This is without kicking SC, driving very soft. Under boost temp rises quickly.

On the highway, with AC on, I was at low 200s, in 6th gear cruising at 65mph.

Thanks 8VETTE7 for the information. I called the original owner as well, and he confirmed that there is only one fan installed. He moved the intake infront of the car, the one fan does run. Maybe its not sufficient to cool with AC in the city driving.

What do you guys think of adding Water Wetter in the coolant with Dex cool.

Why not ask the owner what kind of thermostat he had in it?
