Default Brake pad lube question

Just got my hawk hps pads in the mail today for c6 z06 brakes (c6 z conversion on c5 z). They came with packets of like oil or lube thats suppossed to quit the brakes down, just wanted to know if i apply this to the back of the pad were it meets the caliper piston? or the face of the pad were it meets the rotor? thanks . . .also is the bedding that critical? im going to follow the steps but have to drive 10 mins to main road so guna be on and off breaks until than

It should be a paste to apply to the BACK of the brake pad, where it meets the piston/caliper. NEVER apply anything like that to the face of the brake pad, where it touches the rotor...

The back and also the ears and the caliper where the pad contacts it(slides).

Look at the areas that have been rubbed on the old pads and that is where the grease should go.

I hope that you meant "quiet" the brakes down, I put it all ove the BACK of the pad.

Also.....Bedding the new brakes is crucially important for maximum performance, wear and durability as well. Just be as light on the brakes as possible until you can safely perform your multiple hard stops

Bumping this. I'm also doing a conversion on my truck with z06 brakes. Using hawk street pads. They didn't come with lube. What do you guys recommend? Advance auto generic crap? Not tracking the truck just a weekend warrior. LOL!

I haven't done C6Z brakes specifically, but I never use any sort of grease on the brake pads themselves, and have never had any problems. Make sure the caliper slider pins (if any) have good fresh grease in them and move freely, bed in the pads properly, and enjoy.

Ok! Yeah me either on my other BBK didn't know if it helped quiet them. Nope no pins. Well unless your talking about the caliper guide pins? The like help secure the pads. Is that something I should lube??

Sorry, I was referring to floating calipers (like base C5) that have slider pins. The C6Z calipers are fixed, so you don't have to worry about that.
