Default Replacement Tires for Spirited Fun

Besides wanting a trailer, new CCWs, a beefed up rear differential, more HP, and few other miscellaneous toys for my ride.....

What tire would you suggest as a street spirited swap out for my current Yokohama ADVAN Sports?

I used to run FALKEN 451s long ago, then TOYO T1-Rs (when they first hit the scene in Germany), and now I am running the Advan Sports.

What can you suggest (besides a new CCW package with Nitto 345 NT05Rs) that will get me good grip and be very streetable.

I am wanting somewhere in between wearability (mileage) and grip factor. The Advan Sports yeild no launch capability in a 500 rwtq Vette and break loose anything above 3500 rpms in 2nd gear.

My current tire is: 285/35/19 Advan Sports on a 9.5" wheel.

(Eventually, I will get a better set up, but now right now)

Without having to change my wheels, is there anything you recommend I can try for better grip?

Thanks in advance.

How was your experience with the Falkens? They superceded the 451s with 452s....

To be honest, the Falken 451s were a great street tire, and the 452s were supposed to be even better! The only reason why I went with the Yokohama Advan Sports was to get a softer compound. The ADVANs are 180. The Falkens were (I think) 220?

I did purchase Falken 452s in a 275, but realized they were the wrong size. Ordered 18" by force of habit, and my rear wheels were 19". Being "Special Order" overseas, I couldn't return them. So, I may just try and slap them on my front when the ADVANs wear out. They are just sitting in my garage anyways. That or, if I had a big tree in the back yard, I might have used them for bumper swings.

the Hankook Ventus R3S are the tire of choice in the bigger sizes for heavier cars (like Vettes) in the SCCA street tire classes

they make several 18 and 19 sizes including a 305

I just did a track event last week with 1 month old Ventus R-S3's. The tires performed flawlessly.

FYI, The sizes I needed for my CCW 505A's were 275/35/18 and 305/30/19
