A friend of mine has a C5 and has a fuel gauge problem. When he is driving is gauge periodically goes to zero and stays that way until he stops and re-starts his car. Then it is alright for a while. Anyone else have this problem? Solutions?
This is a well known and documented problem. The normal cause is sulphur building on the right tank sending unit. Normally most of us will run a bottle of Techron through it and maybe more than once to solve this problem. The owner can also elect to pull and either refurbish or replace the sending unit which involves dropping the tank. Try the Techron first and possibly a couple of tanks with Techron as this works more often than not.

I had the same problem seven years ago.. The trick is Techron worked the first time. Now I used it every 5 or so tanks fulls never had this problem again. I get it in Costco 16 bucks for 6 not like 8 bucks in the auto stores forone..Stock up you can't go wrong...
