So I am driving to work this morning, and about half way to my shop, I got the ding and the light on my DIC "Check Gauges", so I do, and my fuel gauge reads empty, and the warning on the DIC says "Low Fuel".
Just a few minutes before, I had checked the gauge and had more than half a tank.
I haven't gone to the gas station as of yet to fill it and see just how much fuel is left, will probably be one of the first things I check.
I was just wondering if any of you experienced Vette owners have experienced this?
I have an 02 C5 coupe.
Any help or advise is appreciated!
Thanks!

Wife has an 04 and it can't remember how much gas it has in it.
If she fills it full the gages think its empty. After she drives it and uses 1/2 gallon or so it will show a full tank. The techron "fix" didn't work and I've been slammed with other issues so I haven't changed the sender.
I tried the Techron treatment too and it didn't work. My 2000 vert is experiencing some weird grounding problems (forgetting the fob, radio doing weird things). I wonder if this error in the fuel gauge might be a grounding gremlin rather than a sender problem?
The Techron fix works when the problem is solely due to sulfur contamination on the contacts of the sending unit inside the tank. However, those contacts can also bend or break and lose contact that way so if the Techron does not work it is likely that the tank has to be pulled and sending unit changed.
The technician who explained all this to me (at the C5/C6 Bash last week) thinks that it is probably my passenger side sending unit is the bad one, based on how my gauge will go to Empty after about an hour of driving, but then often kicks back on after another hour or so.
Right now I'm not worrying about it - it is only an occasional and minor annoyance.

This technician is likely correct on the right side module needing changing (or at least a cleaning of the siphon-pump orifice), but NOT correct on the need to drop the tank. The ONLY C5s that need to drop the tank for fuel sending unit/pump service are late '03s and all '04s.
If you want to do this yourself you'll need GM part #89047746 (or AC Delco MU1218, same thing) sending unit module for the right tank and and an AC Delco part # G4 tank gasket.
Try B-12 Chemtool instead of the techron. I ran several tanks thru with the techron and it did nothing. I put the B-12 Chemtool in before my last fill up and then let the car sit a week with the tank full so the chemical had time to work. I have had no issues since then.
