Default Fuel System upgrade question

I am at 540 rwhp right now. Hopefully soon here Ill jump close to 600 rwhp. Now I have heard that at or around 600(+) rwhp you need to start upgrading fuel systems. Now is that correct? I have a Walboro 255 intank right now with no issues.

any info will help

Thanks

You need to hook it up to a dyno, and check your fuel pressure under varying loads. That'll tell you where you're at. I bought a A&A SC kit, which came with a replacement pump, made by LPE. Maybe because of my previous mods, or whatever, from about 5400 RPMs up, my FP started dropping to the point where my tuner (who's very conservative) felt it was unsafe, with a stock block, and no meth. He then added a BAP in addition to the LPE pump, and there was F pressure to spare. I'm at 580 RWHP on a Mustang dyno, and 7lbs of boost.

Did you just change the pump only? How about a direct power wiring harness upgrade like the one Racetronix offers? That direct-feed wiring is good for 1 or 2 more volts to the pump over the factory wiring.

I agree with zeevette. Check your WOT fuel pressures and IDCs. If they're marginal, a Kenne-Bell makes a lot of sense.

P.S. The LPE pumps are Walbro 255s.
