It depends on the temperatures at the time. Most all see a normal operating temperature, about 38-50 psi but during the middle of the summer, hot, idling, could be 19. Lowest allowed minimum is 6 psi to run the engine. Should it ever get that low, the engine needs to come apart.

Also what oil you use may alter the number a little as well. M1 5w30 is a thin oil while castrol runs thick on their ratings.
That and if you use a 10 or 15wXX weight oil the pressure can also be higher.
I run 1 qt of 15w50 and the rest 5w30 and see around high 30's to low 60's right now with the cooler weather. Drops to 40ish when warm.

did you try the swivel socket method like in the video? I dont mind cutting if i need to but i only try to do it as a last resort. of course after taking the intake off twice, once to go to the LS6 and once to reattach the rear vacuum line, doing it a third time to do the oil pressure sender would be a snap.

Baxsom I cut a hole in the cowl. I went this way for future time saving when it needs to be done again lol. after removing 1 9mm bolt thats next to the sending unit i used a 1 1/16 impact socket and it was a breeze. i figure it will take a 1/2 hour tops next time.
