do you have the newest version??... the newest one has an adjustable threaded shaft which you should be able to bring back up to stock level if you wanted

Yes, I have the newest one. Even adjusted all the way up (leaving recommended threads in base) it was still ~3/4" lower than stock. I machined a shaft 1.25" longer which gave me stock height and plenty of thread in the base. I think for most people the supplied shaft will be the one they want. I'm just a little **** about stock appearance.
Thanks for the feedback guys. It's really unusual to get practically unanimous positive feedback on a product like I got on this shifter. So I ordered one with the longer shaft and their race ****. If I want a still shorter throw I'll get the shorter shaft for another $25
I just put my longer shaft on this weekend. It is definitely longer, but still precise and smooth and much more comfortable for dd! The drag racers probably wouldn't like the longer throws, but I road race mine so it is not a big deal. Enjoy!
Finally installed my MWG shifter today. What a beautiful piece of hardware - it's almost too nice to cover with the shifter boot. It works as sweetly as it looks - little firmer than stock [I set it as short as possible] but not difficult at all. Shifts very naturally from 2nd to 3rd with no need to aim for the 3rd gate. No noise at all. Only two negatives - there are no written instructions - just a CD which is out of date due to improvements in the shifter, and their website is also out of date and doesn't show the latest iteration of the product.
Well, I bought my near brand new MGW (6 mo old or so) from a forum member for $200. shipped He didnt like it stating it didnt fit his "driving style"..... I dunno, but Im glad he wanted to sell it.
It was me. I didn't like the extra effort needed to shift, not that it was that bad...just not as as effortless as the C6 shifter I replaced it with. I also had some issues getting into reverse, which it probably wasn't lined up perfectly, but since I sold it I have no regrets with the C6 I replaced it with.
Very happy with mine that I bought used off the forum. Installed last weekend. Feels darn great to me. There is no slop in this thing. Effort is a good bit increased over stock, but not excessive IMO.
