Default Cai intake for c5???

Hi was hoping somebody could tell me of a good cold air intake? Wanted a Vararam but the guys at vararam said it wont work, the problem is I have a 98 c5 w/a 05 z06 nose. Any suggestions for another quality intake that will work???

Like they said. Blackwing. Also modify (scoop) the radiator shroud for real cold air induction. There is a DIY on the forum. This mod is cheaper, effective, and the quality of the Blackwing is top notch. Oh yeah , did I read you right? 2005 ZO6 front?

Personally that would have been my first choice but at almost $500, that's a bit too pricey for me. But I would take that over a VR.

Could be wrong was told it was z06 nose buy previous owner but it looks similar when I look at photos of 05. When I get photos uploaded chk it out and let me know as I'm not a c5 expert but working on it. I know it doesnt have the fog light cutouts for sure, may go w/blackwing. Thanks for suggestions.

Working on uploading a couple pics but having trbl, forum says unable to upload, I will figure this out.

The Halltech and Blackwing are not true CAI as they use ambient air from engine bay. Vararaam, Honker and BPP are the only true CAI that comes to mind.

Save your money. Buy headers and get a A&A vortech blower Kit. Best bang for the buck. You will get 500-550RWHP!!!! That is the true Ram Air! Much better than any CAI.

True. That's why installing a scoop in the radiator shroud will turn it into a real cold air/RAM air setup.

I've used the BPP Vortex CAI kit for 9 years now and have been happy with it.
