They always say "no dust, no noise, good stopping power - pick two"

...well what if my priorities are 1) no dust 2) good stopping power...and 3) no noise (a distant third)

Does there exist a ceramic pad (for no dust) that does have good stopping power (on the street), and might squeak a bit?

I've looked all over the forum ... but it seems most peoples' criteria is much different ... they want no noise first, and then worry about the other things.

And for those that are looking for a zero dust street pad that also makes no noise...I am not sure that one exists.

I don't expect dust-free, but when I wash the car, drive it an hour to a show and the wheels change from silver to "competition gray" that's unacceptable.

Case in point - I went from OEM to HPS+ for an HPDE - now 2-3 roundtrips (44mi) to work and my wheels are covered....

Surprisingly, very little noise....

I was after the same thing and just put on Satisfied ceramics with new Power Stop slotted rotors and am very happy with the results.

I recently drove the car on a 1500 mile trip that included some very spirited driving on this set up and once the rotors and pads seated together have almost zero dust, zero noise, and good stopping power.

A quality ceramic pad should provide all the stopping power you could ever want for the street while remaining clean and quiet. In my experience, satisfied, akebono and power stop evolution have all met the above expectations. They will work well for autocross events as well, but if you plan on HPDE driving you'll want to stick with a metallic pad or have a track set of rotors/pads for those events if you can't take the dust/noise on the street.

I hear ya! That's why I'm looking for a dust free pad that provides decent stopping power on the street, at the cost of a little noise.

On a side note - I have found a lot of sites, when chosing pads, have you select either Base C6 or Z06 for size and fitment. I feel pretty dumb asking this...but which do I select if I have a Z51 ('08 model)???

C5 and C6 use the same pad. The 2 pads that are diffrent are the C6 zo6 and C6 ZR1. You would select base. On a side note for the pad you are looking for you should consider the Bobcat 1521.

The GM EOM ceramic pads have worked very good for me.
