Default $5,000 any ideas?

I have a 2000 convertible and $5000 I'm looking at bolt on horsepower (heads, forced air etc.) in the area of 425 to 450 is this possible? Any help I can get would be greatly apprecated. Thanks

425 to 450 at the wheels will be tough for 5K unless you go with a nitrous system. I'm assuming that you're going to pay for the installation. To reach 425 rwhp you'll need an air intake, headers, a heads/cam package and PCM re-programming. In my part of the country that's going to cost at least 7-8K.

Might check with Chris at Speeddemons

looking at his site

stage 2 heads--$2399.95
comp cam--$375.95
Ported/Pol TB.--$129.95
Total--$2905.85

I think the mall has:
Corvetteforum Mall price--$889.00 <--TPIS headers
Corvetteforum Mall price -- $89.00 <--X-pipe
Corvetteforum Mall price--$419.99 <--Vortex Intake, Carbon Fiber Power Duct
Total--1397.99

combined total -- 4303.84 this leaves about 700.00 for labor to install the above products. 700.00 might not cover all the labor but will cover most. If you are a do-it-yourselfer then you could find other things to spend the cash on.

hope this info helps

good luck :seeya

Save up 3k more and go with the LPE supercharger!!

"LS6 horsepower & torque slightly higher. Power figures quoted
are with LPE 1 3/4" stainless steel headers, LPE air induction and cat back exhaust."--LPE site

Optional Equipment
LPE high flow air intake system----------395.00
LPE 1 3/4" stainless steel header------1,395.00
LPE lighted boost gauge-----------------339.00
Corsa stainless steel exhaust system----795.00

8399+395+1395+795 = 10,984.00 installed (without lighted gauge or shipping costs)

if you did the work yourself you might save some cash since the installed price includes 2,400.00 for labor.

looks like for a LPE S/C package he needs to save up 3,300.00 - 5,984.00 more and don't forget to add shipping costs. He could save $$ if he has the work done locally.

We have a GP on our H/C pkg for $3995, installed. PCM would be another $499. There is an existing post on this already up.

ARE Street Eliminator Heads/Cam Package - $1650
TTS Long Tube Headers - $1150
Installation and Dyno Tuning - $2000

TOTAL - $4800

That would leave you $200 to spend on the significant other to make up for you spending this much on your car! :D

Drop me an email if you want any more info or details.

Thanks for the help. I see heads on your posts concerning heads for $1,800-$2,000 what would the difference be between these heads and heads like Edelbrock Victor Jr. for $1,245. Installation won't be a problem I plan to handle that with a little help from friends.
Again thanks for the help.
Good idea on the extra for the wife :D
