Quick Q: I just recieved the used unit I bought (37k miles). the ring gear looks to be in great shape with perfect contact areas. However, when I move the ring gear back and forth it seems to have a little play, about 1/8th inch. Is this normal? Also what gear lube are you all running, and is the GM additive needed?

From the service manual:
Ring Gear/Pinion Backlash 0.13-0.21 mm 0.0067-0.0082 in
When you turn the ring gear it seems like a lot of play.
I have been using Royal Purple Max Gear as it is readily available and has friction additive.
