Default AutoTap question

Can someone explain what the highest possible data sampling rate with Auotap is in both real-time and logging mode? Does the number of parameters being capture impact the sampling rate?

It appears to me that the logging mode is limited to about 1 record per second. Is this correct? The screen updates seem to have a much better rate.

I tried to start a log just before a WOT run up to about 80 and then found I only had 2 records in the log. The data was useless. I had about 10 parameters being logged.

This may have had something to do with the crappy laptop I was running the software on. I left my good one at the office.

Any help on getting useful WOT data out of this thing would be greatly appreciated. I’m trying to see if I’m getting any knock retard under WOT conditions and also trying to see what the fuel trims are.

The more parameters you are logging, monitoring, the slower the refresh rate is. Autotap can only pull so much bandwidth from the PCM every second, and the more things you are viewing, the longer the period between refreshes.

I really only monitor:

RPM
TPS
O2 B1S1
O2 B2S1
LTFT B1
LTFT b2
Fuel Cell
KR
Timing Advance

If you have your car on a dyno and only car about 02 readings at WOT, I would get rid of the LTFTs and Fuel Cell.
