Default need help with AC

I need help diagnosing my AC problems.

It worked fine last summer.
this winter the actuator door motor on the passenger side was stuck in cool so I swapped it out and all worked fine.
when the air is cool outside I can switch from cool to hot but if it is above 80 outside it blows like a heater no matter where I put set it although there is a small difference so I know the actuators are working.

Is it possible I accidental unpluged something? it was pretty tight up inside there when changing it, I had to remove the driver side seat and lay down where the seat was to get to it,

I checked all fuses and relays and found no bad ones and even went as far as swapping them around just in case.
when I turn the ac on I do hear the engine slow down and the auxiliary fans kick on
I have felt the AC lines and they are hot to the touch.
I only have a cheap gauge to check the pressure where freon is added and it reads good.

anyone have any ideas where I should start?
I did a search and tried everything I found while searching so I am now asking if anyone has any better knowledge than me.

This car has lots of miles {250,000+} and I think it has the oem compressor.
One guy I ask said something about a filter in line somewhere and a check valve.
I am being honest when I say I have no idea what he means.

If it is something electrical I normally can fix it or jerry rig it enough to get me home but I know nothing about HVAC

thanks in advance

I also found out today my wife's 86C4 definitely needs a compressor, when I opened the hood to see what the noise was I saw freon coming out from around the pully. not a good time of the year for both AC systems to go out at the same time

Mine did that, it was low on freon. It also had a plugged orifice tube (filter) that somone had put in backwards with a new compressor install(it was plugged up). Took it in and they cleaned the lines and put a new tube in, and it works great now. Probably need to put some decent gages on it, or find a good AC guy to look at it as they can tell a lot from the readings.
