Need help with possible headlight problem
We haven't driven our 2000 C5 in a week and came home to a extremely dead battery. We disconnected the battery and got it fully recharged. When we reconnected the battery it sparked and we could hear a popping noise from the right front.
We traced the popping to the right headlight area. We're thinking it's the headlight actuator module, but the headlights are still functional. Could this part be in the process of shorting? We unplugged all the wiring to the module and the popping stopped.
The only time the headlights have been used since we bought the car in December was to unload it off the trailer after getting home from the track late Sunday night. Then the car wasn't run for a week and when we tried to start it the battery was graveyard dead.
Are we on the right track before I spend nearly $300 for a module or should I just hook it all back up and keep a trickle charger on the blasted thing. It's just a car we bought to use at the track and this happened after 2 days running the road course.
