1998 c5 windshield washer pump not working
The windshield washer pump on my 98 C5 Convertible does not work when I press down on the button on the switch. The windshield wipers work in all settings, #10 fuse (25A) is good. I jumped the washer pump on the holding tank and it works. Any suggestions before I have to replace the wiper switch? Thank you in advance.

Do the wipers work? If not check fuse.
For the pump, disconnect the pump and attach your volt meter to the wires. Turn the car on and push the button. If you get voltage then you have a problem with the pump. No voltage, then look at the switch.

I fixed mine today. Replaced the switch. Not too bad a job, but that wasn't it. Turned out to be the pump.
Moral of the story... check the cheap and easy stuff first.

Guy's,
Here is one thing to check.
Some times when you remove the tank or start moving it around from its
unbolted cavity, the switch can get turned from its proper top side position. (upside down)
Try rotating the switch 180 degrees & see if that does the trick.
It has happened to me a couple of years ago.

I took Z's advice and rotated the plug to where the clip side was down and I tried it a few times. that didnt appear to work. Then I got mad and applied the BFH technique and pushed the switch in a few times really hard and it started to working!

I tested the pump straight to the battery and it works, I used a voltmeter on the plug and I have 12 volts when the button is pressed but when I plug it in and test the voltage on the wires when it is pressed the voltage spikes then immediately goes to zero??? any ideas

im trying to figure this out now. pump works on battery, switch fires the wipers but no wash. wondering what this post above is about.. "the switch can get turned from it's proper top side position". huh? there's no switch in the tank (is there?) just the level sensor and the power leads to the pump. anyone know what 'rotating the switch' is referring to?

Check the male terminal pins at the washer pump motor weather pack connector. Mine were bent and were not seating correctly to make contact in the power plug.

No power on pump terminals
I had intermittent power on the pump when pushing the switch, but as soon as connecting the pump, apparently no more as now I'm getting no voltage at all, but the washer button still activates the wipers. So how could it be a switch problem?
Actually what happen s when I push the button the voltage increases to 12mV, which I must have misread as 12V earlier. I see, maybe the trigger to the wiper still works and is distinct from the circuit for the washer which then would be a switch issue, mechanical wear more likely than just some burned wire and no fuse problem.
