Need some advice. Long story short - maneuvering a sharp curve one night I slammed on the brakes to miss a deer and off into the ditch I go. Okay, mostly cosmetic damage (body panel, front cover, wheels, tires, etc.) no obvious fluid leaks, engine, or transmission related problems, and the car would start and shift. Car was stuck in mud and had to be towed out. Car really didn't look all that bad and I didn't get hurt at all.
About 2 weeks before the accident she throws a P1416 which I have dealt with before about a year ago. No problem - I know how to fix it just didn't have a chance to fix it before the accident. So, off it goes to the dealer for repairs. I get the car back and, uh-oh, I notice the check engine light is off. Hmmm. I drive away from the dealer and immediately notice the shifting has changed. Used to have a firm 1st-2nd shift. Actually, ALL the shift points seem to take forever and feels like someone is applying the brakes before it finally shifts. Sometimes it seems to "hunt" for a gear, like it can't decide to upshift or stay low. Kinda makes it feel like a surging condition, slight revving up/down. Oh yeah, it's a stock C5 - A4 tranny. HELP!
