I would like to thank everyone for their help. I found the passenger side fuel injector closest to the front of the engine is leaking. Do I need to replace all (8) injectors? Can I just replace the (1) injector? Can I get away with replacing the O ring on the (1) injector? Finally, what does it entail to pull that injector? Thanks.
If it is just the o-ring then you can get away with just replacing the o-ring. Make sure to get a new o-ring that is rated for fuel (we use Viton) and make sure to lube all of them that go back in when you put it together. For lube we recommend liquid soap.
If it is a more severe problem, cracked case, hung solenoid or the like, the injector must be replaced, and in the case of injectors, when 1 goes the others are usually not far behind.
And watch out-the 2 O-rings are different-the one going into the intake is a different size than the one going into the fuel rail. Probably takes all of 10 minutes to swap an injector.
Well, if you can believe it, there is no Chevrolet OEM injectors in Canada. They have to come out of the states. I will try the o-ring. I did pull the injector, inspected it, lubed it and reconnected it. Needless to say, it was worse. Fuel was pouring out of the fuel rail. With the little bit of research that I have done, it does appear that the top O-ring is toast. I have managed to source a remanufactered injector that is about (3) days away. Thanks again for all your help.
I want to thank everyone for their help. Ended up sourcing the O ring kit and it did the trick. I lubed them with detergent as suggested, all is well. Thanks again.
