Magnetic drain plugs
2003 coupe, Is it possible to change the 4L60 Automatic and the rear differential drain plugs with Magnetic ones with out having to drain the whole units one by one ? I bought a full set Engine/trans/rear differential and was wondering how I can go about a swap with the least trouble. Thanks !

Unfortunately, other than flipping the car upside down, you will have to drain out your fluids. On the bright side, it's a good opportunity to refill with fresh fluids.

The transmission pan only has a fill plug, which is located on the left side of the pan. There is no drain plug on the bottom of the the pan.
You won't lose a drop, when you remove this plug, as long as the fluid is COLD, the engine is RUNNING, and the transmission is in PARK or NEUTRAL.
When the transmission fluid reaches 104 degrees, it should be at the level of the fill plug threads.
