Where do I need to look to find the A/C drain tube, how do I get to it, and how do I check it for build-up and clean the build-up out if it has any? The last thing I need is to get stranded because overflow has fried the computer.
Just had the clogged drain tube problem. It is located behind the pax side cylinder head, it exits the firewall at this point. I could only get to it from the underside reaching up past exhaust pipe. Mine only had a 90 degree elbow attachment.
I don't know why mine clogged up. I stuck a screwdriver up into the elbow and H2O started to flow. Unfortunetly I found it was clogged after a two hour trip and it backed up and came out the bottom of the fan motor and then soaked my BCM. Now I have error codes and it looks like time for a new BCM but hey its only $331!
The tube coming out of the firewall on mine is metal and sticks straight out, the 90 degree elobow directs the water to drain straight down. This elbow slides onto the metal tube but there is not much room to move up in there.
Something was clogging my water flow in the elbow.
Does the elbow just come off of the tube so that I can clean it? Or should I just do what you did and stick something up into it to see if it is close to being clogged?
You may want to consider putting a baggy over your BCM just in case this happens again. Then if it does it again at least only the carpet gets wet. Hopfully :)
