Can't specifically answer your question as to "why" the drivers door opening doesn't shut your radio off, but
The radio should shut off when either door is opened.
Agreed. I mis-read. Yes, should kill radio when either door is opened if I remember correctly. Its been a while ago (bought a Double-Din), so memory isnt the best

If thats the only problem you are experiencing, you are blessed.
I'm sure it's the door switch thats causing my problems. It won't lock automicaly or unlock and it doesn't kill the power to radio or turn on the couristy lights. I wonder who sells those? Eckler ?
It won't lock automically or unlock and it doesn't kill the power to radio or turn on the couristy lights.
This is likely the DCM, not the switch itself. You should troubleshoot your power locks / window controls further based on this description before attempting to buy parts. It probably is a $zero fix.
The DCM sends messages over the serial bus (OBD-2) to tell the radio to shut off, BCM for courtesy lights/security, and the other door to lock/unlock/window-up/window-down. When you use your key fob to unlock (or the auto-lock as you start driving), that is the BCM messaging the DCMs. Try both the passenger and driver's door window and lock controls, and report what works and what doesn't.
Each DCM controls the "local" resources directly (driver's buttons control driver's window and door lock) so if they work but the "remote" commands fail (opposite door control, key fob, auto-lock), inspect the rubber accordian by the door hinge for a bad/loose/shorted tan wire that prevents these messages from being communicated.
