Default How can these wheels fit?

18 x 10" +40mm
18 x 12" +57mm

I have inquired a purchase of OZ Alleggeritas, and have been told these wheels/offsets will not fit my 2000 FRC. Understood. But why won't they fit? Are the wheels too wide? Or are the offsets the wrong offset pushing the wheels in too far which will make tires rub on the inside? I was told by a second company that an 18 x 12 in 59mm offset WOULD fit. Does that 2mm difference contribute significantly to the offset?

I was also told there is an 18 x 8.5 available in 53mm that would work for the front, and an 18 x 11 in 75mm that would require a 1/4" to 1/2" spacer for the rear.

If the rear 18 x 11 would require a 1/4" - 1/2" spacer, couldn't a spacer be utilized for the front as well?

I don't understand offsets very much, and I would much prefer an 18 x 10 wheel over an 18 x 8.5 if possible.

So, if I really wanted the 18 x 10 and 18 x 12, what sizes spacers would I require front and rear?

Thanks again....

If this link above is dead-on ***** accurate, I have concluded the following:

Current Set Up (C6 Replicas Aftermarket Wheels/NOT STOCK):
18 x 8.5 Front @ 46mm
19 x 10 Rear @ 65mm

Options:

FRONT OPTIONS:
18 x 8.5 Front @ 53mm = 7mm less inside / Retract by 7mm (-0.28 inch) from outside
18 x 10 Front @ 40mm = 13mm less inside / Add 25mm to outside (+0.98 Inch Spacer)

REAR OPTIONS:
18 x 11 Rear @ 75mm = 23mm less inside / Add 3mm to outside (+0.12 inch Spacer)
18 x 12 Rear @ 57mm = 17mm less inside / Add 33 mm to outside (+2.30 inch Spacer)

If I were to calculate from STOCK Wheels and Offsets, I would calculate the following:

Stock Wheels
17 x 8.5 @ 58mm
18 x 9.5 @ 65mm

Options:

Front Options:
18 x 8.5 @ 53mm = 5mm MORE / EXTEND an extra 5mm (+0.20 inch Spacer)
18 x 10 @ 40mm = 1mm LESS / EXTEND an extra 37mm (+1.46 inch Spacer)

Rear Options:
18 x 11 @ 75mm = 29mm LESS / EXTEND an extra 9mm (+0.35 inch Spacer)
18 x 12 @ 57mm = 24mm LESS / EXTEND an extra 40mm (+1.57 inch Spacer)

Does this sound about correct?

From the looks of the sizes and offsets, they ( OZ ) appear to be making those wheels for the C6 and C6Z. If you're looking for an 18" wheel, CCW will get you what you need without the hassle of in-correct offsets

Thank you Sir. I know CCW can get me there as well as Fikse. Both have unsurpassed reputations, and quality doesn't come without a price. Still debating.....
