Default Installed LS6 manifold and Im throwing codes

P0327 and P0332 rear and front knock sensors.

Now from all the reading Ive done it sounds like I may have pinched a wire or its a disconnected harness outside the manifold where Im not too sure where this is at yet.

Can anyone confirm that this is probably my issue? If it is a pinched wire how do I fix that? Buy a new wire from harness to harness?

And should I go ahead and replace knock sensors while Im in there for the hell of it?

Also any other ideas on what it may be is appreciated

The same thing happened to me years ago when I swapped out the manifold on my Z28. It turned out that the harness connector wasn't 'snapped' in all the way. It must have been that way from the factory because I bought the car new and I had never had it apart before that. The connector looked like it was connected ok but when I gave it a little pressure I heard it snap back into place- Code gone.

Good luck with your hunt.

Wheres this connector at? Im waiting for the engine to cool down but arent the sensors wrapped in black looming and is into a black plug?
So just wondering where the wire is at?

Oh and Lucky thanks for your expertise

In the pic below, the bracket (that the wire loom is up against) has the knock sensor connector attached to it.

Thats on the driver side right?

Its connected but I didnt re bolt it back onto the bracket. I forgot

All is torn apart again though, I may as well see if I pinched a wire?

Or do you think its that connector? Can I spray it with something to clean it or what do you recommend doing? Im 99% sure it is connected just fine but I will look to see if it has been burned through since it wasnt re attached to bracket

If the connector is seated, then you probably smashed the harness.

Found it, RIGHT at the back of the engine where the manifold bolts down the wire was in that groove where it perfectly smashed the wires down when I bolted the intake on. Not only that but on the back side the wires are showing through so it burned through.

So now I know I need to replace from the connector to the sensors.

Lucky would you happen to know the part number for that piece?

Im guessing its going to be the wiring and the black plugs that plug into the knock sensor holes all in one piece?

Not sure what I'm looking at here. The KS harness should have a protective sleeving on it.

Samething but yours is way more insulated. Mine has just a small wrap of wires. Looks like I need the wire all the way to the connector

I think I need one of these. This is what has a few pinch marks AND wires exposed mid through the line
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/99-04...-/360352572444

Where can I get some for my particular vette that has better insulation like yours

No Im not the original owner. Am I guessing someone has messed with this before as its not the original tape wrap?

But so Im guessing this wire being pinched and the exposed wire is the cause of my problem?

No clue. Every intake I have pulled off, has had the protected harness like mine.

very weird

Before I mess anything up how do I take off these plugs? Just a screw driver and gently lift all the way around until it pops off?

Im thinking its been replaced before
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-G...item2c5c7bd524

Cause mine look just like these, barely any wrapping to them.

Yes, and you can verify that with a meter......if you can tell visually.

I dont have a meter but the wires pinched in a few locations so Ill get a new one anyways and see what happens. Hell everything else is perfect so its gotta be this. I hope
Is there a certain way to run these wires so when i tighten manifold they dont get pinched?

The bolt heads that hold down the valley cover are higher than the thickness of the harness. All you have to do is route it so cannot be pinched between two surfaces.
