One more question: After I put in the new plugs and wires, I want to reset the PCM. Will the idle re-learn procedure do the trick? Or is it a complete different procedure?
My first Dyno was low as well. Turns out I had (2) bad plug wires. In order to really understand that car get an Autotap and start monitoring. I believe another member offered to help in the tuning with the Autotap and MAFT-What an offer :) Take him up on it- you will not be disappointed.
It was about 90 degrees outside and no fan to cool the car.
What was the correction factor? At 90 degrees ambient the true HP would be down a lot. I don't know if you Dyno operator had one of the newer automatic weather correcting units or one of the older ones where the operator has to type in the weather data. In any case if the C.F. is wrong the HP we be too.
it's all tought to comment without seeing your trace. If it's not a smooth curve then things like plugs make a difference as does timing/ KR and air:fuel
Changing fuel pressure will not make a long term solution as the computer compensates. Changes in fuel pressure because of bad / clogged injectors?
I think you guys are missing the whole boat here. I think the key to the problem is the PCM. I have heard through the grapevine that the GM trolls released a new "update" of the PCM info on c-5's.:troll From what I heard the new release pulled overall timing to solve detonation problems in certain cars. I bet you have this version on your PCM. I know when I got my blower put in my Z-28 everyone was saying that for every degree of timing pulled it equals about 10WRHP. So you can see it would not take much timing being pulled before you would be at 270. You can have all the mods you want, but if the timing is set correctly you might as well forget about making any real HP. Just my .02
By the way, I forgot to mention this. I turned off traction control at the dyno but it was still throwing codes for ABS and Traction control. I am assuming it is normal becuase the fron wheels weren't spinning and it is confusing the sensors?
