Default PO343 Help

I am getting the PO343 Cam Position sensor voltage high code and after cleaning all my grounds and checking all the wiring I need advice on which direction to go next. I did a search and from what I found it seems that these sensors usually do not go bad. It seems that the cam sprocket bolts become loose do to gm not using loctite.

I had a cam package installed 7 months ago at a very reputable shop so I believe that they would torque to spec and use loctite on the bolts. That being said what should I do now?

Should I try to replace the sensor myself?
Should I send it back to the shop and let them check the bolts?
If it is the bolts, should I have to pay out of my pocket?

I'm planning on calling the shop tomorrow to see what they say but wanted to get some advice before I do. Thanks in advance!

I had that code come up after a SC install, within a hundred miles of driving. I changed out the sensor first in hopes that was the issue. While it was out checked the connection for corrosion and continuity to the computer. Wiring checked out, connection was good so in went the new sensor and still had the code. Shop took the timing cover off to check the bolts and they were loose, all three.

As for where you should start first that's really up to you and your shop, that sensor can go bad and the bolts could have backed out so take your pick.

Good luck,

Thanks Darion! How much did your shop charge you to check the bolts?
