Got a 2000 coupe little over a month ago. Three different times I have had the car die while backing out or starting to drive away. All power still works motor just shuts off and will restart. It has started back up and will run fine. The column lock has been bypassed but not sure how. You can still hear the lock moving when you put the key in, the wheel will still turn with key out. Checked codes and not getting any newcomes just some history ones. I do hear the fuel pump whine a little, change pitch with signal flash, but the truck does the same thing.
I had autozone test the battery, they did it with the handheld, said it was ok. I will take it to another place the have it fully load tested. It hasn.t happened but a couple of times. Its annoying, I have had it start up and run but it's gotten me jumpy about being out of town with it.

Don't forget to check the cables esp down by the starter.
Original battery had 682 cranking amps but nothing about a reserve. I changed the no name batery to a new red top. I haven't seen any of the problems so far. The DIC sows and average of 13.7 does not flucuate to much lowest so far 13.2 with night driving.
