Default Check Engine problems with my 2000 Vette

Hello everyone. Just got the "check engine" light on my 2000 vette and when I took it to auto zone to run the free diagnostic check, the result was " secondary air injection system". Neither I or the associate knew what this meant. Can anyone help me pin point what the problem is/will be before I spend money to get it checked out?

I just purchased this vette not too long ago and I am quite new to the Vette family. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Had a 0410 on my 2000. Mine was a leaky lead-acid battery that ruined the small vacuum line that comes from behind the intake manifold and runs down to the passenger side wheel well. That vacuum system opens the air outlet valve on the secondary air system. Check your heater/AC air ducts, if you cannot change from vent to heater to defrost, it is the vacuum line. Kinda of a PITA to fix. Buy a AGM battery.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Here are the codes that came up:
10-PCM P0410 HC
A0-LDCM B2282 H
B2284 H
U1064 H
A1-RDCM B2283 H
B2285 H
U1064 H
A6-SCM B2860 H
B0-RFA U1096 H
U1064 H
U1016 H

It seems as though the Auto Zone diagnostic check was right, The one code with "C" next to it reads "Secondary Air Injection (AIR) System".

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Mark, sounds like I may have the same problem as the code read 0410 as well. Was this a job you fixed yourself or did you take it somewhere? Also, how much did it cost to fix, if you don't mind me asking? Thanks

Mark, after finding the code, how did you go about pin pointing where the issue was coming from? Did you have a mechanic check it out or did you dig in yourself? I ask because I got a few opinions from some mechanics and they said it could be different things, so I don't want to spend money just so they tell me its something else, when it really isn't.

It is not terribly difficult but time consuming....It should be obvious if your battery is leaking. If you remove it you will see moisture or rust like substance below your battery. There is a bundle of wires under your battery and the vacuum hose is bundled with them. The vacuum hose is 1/8" or 3/16" diameter and black, it looks just like a wire in the bundle. It comes from the back of the intake manifold and runs down to a vacuum servo behind your right front tire. There is a removable cover in the rear front fender. I removed my tire for easier access. I read other threads and some say you can replace the whole line from the intake manifold to the servo. I could not get to mine behind the manifold so I bought a tubing coupler and tubing, found where my hose was damaged and replaced it from there to actuator. The acid did not damage ant wiring, just ruined the plastic tubing. Total cost $5.00 for hose and coupling. Can be time consuming, 2-5 hours. I take it your vents in your AC/Heater are not working? Good Luck!

I'm unable to search the P 010 code problem for a while, and have no other transportation, what damage will be caused by continued driving?
