Default Tire Size & Active Handling

Forgive the newbie question and I'm simply without the time to do the research myself at the moment...so I thought I'd post a question I'll title "Tire Sizing and Active Handling for Dummies".

Question is - will I have any Active Handling issues with the following rim & tire configuration?

285/30/18 - BFG KDW NT
295/35/18 - BFG KDW NT

I would like to use some tires I have laying around and just want to make sure I won't have any problems.

Thank you for the help.

Rears have to be larger diameter than the fronts so AH won't freak out.

So, I'm assuming that means I'd have no problem with the following configuration either...

275/35/18 - BFG KDW NT
295/35/18 - BFG KDW NT

Thanks for your help.

Do an "Advanced Search" above-many posts on this but I believe the rears have to be at least 1/2" taller than the fronts not to cause problems.

And if it does become a problem you just put it in Competitive driving mode every time you start it.
Thank you for the response 8VETTE7, but sorry as I messed up.

I meant 275/35, not 285/35...

275/35/18 - BFG KDW NT
295/35/18 - BFG KDW NT

What does your math say the delta is with that setup? Thanks again for your help...

I've decided to just throw some 295/35/18's on the rear and use the 285/30/18 KDW 2/NT's that came on the front. The math says that's a 1.3" delta. I should be good to go. In the future I'll go with the 275/35 and 295/35 setup.

Thanks again for the help fellas.

I just wish there were more matching front/rear street tires available in larger sizes for 18" rims! Seems I have to go 275/295 or jump all the way up to a 335 rear in a matching set of street tires! 335 is too big (sticks way out past the fenders) and 295 is a bit too small for my 11.5" rear rim (looks a bit stretched). Optimally there would be a 305/35 or 315/3X rear, with a matching front available.

Finding the right matching set of street tires for my 18" CCW's has been a PITA!

Default Tire size and Active Handling w/ 18" Rims

Toyo has an aggressive street legal (barely) track tire called the
R888, some combinations that would likely work include:
275/35/18 (25.7") front, 305/35/18 (26.3") rear. Differential .6"
and/or
285/30/18 (24.8") front, 315/30/18 (25.5") rear. Differential .7"

35 series might be a tad more practical on the street, and give just
a bit more comfort and protection form pot holes.

Yeah, but how long would they last on the street? A track tire like this is going to wear fast and they aren't cheap at $1500-1700 delivered/mounted.

I want a 35 profile, but I can't find any matching street tires in these sizes! If I have to go 285/30 & 315/30 then I'll just get the Yokahama's. They at least have a treadware of 180.
