Sweet! That is good to hear since after these first 31k I am looking for new tires this summer. The rear run-craps are bald as heck except for the outer edges. No burnouts, one trip to the track with about 5 runs, and normal driving for two years. Go figure.
My best was 13.05 @ 109.52 when the car had 7k on it. Only mods were and are Borla quad tips, !cags, and Vortex rammer. Nevermind the extra 50lbs of electronics and my sorry overweight butt. Being THAT close to 12s on my first time ever to a track was good motivation to lose a few pounds! LOL
Right now I am dropping the Borlas and awaiting delivery of the SLP LMs. I can't wait!
Nittos are pretty good. I went from a best of 12.66 to a best of 12.388 after using the Nittos. There is a definate difference with the Nittos on the back than the 18" stock tires, it seems like there is more bounce to it, but handling seems to be fine.
Dave, as Iam going out for the first time with my Nitto's and looking for the 12's, can you tell me about how you launched...what RPM, tire pressures, how well did you heat them up? Appreciate the help and thanks.
Joe
The new Mich Piolt Sports seem to stick as well as my Nitto 555R Drag Radials on the street. I have yet to run with them at the track, but my z06 rims are also lighter, especially up front where I always still ran with the run flats, and wider in the rear so some gains may be there?
I lauch with about 1/4 throttle. What I really want to try is some ET Street, but I hear these stick sooo good I may brake something :D
I got in the water, turned them over once to get them wet. Drove forward out of the water and lit them up! A did a nice 7 sec smoke show. Just dump the clutch at a high rpm and hit the brake. When done let off the brake and let the car go forward. At the line I have found a near stock Vette doesn't have enough tq to spin these things. So like the burn out, dump the clutch at a real high rpm, I was going at 4,500 and wasn't getting any spin.
