After stopping at a store yesterday I got back in the Vette and after driving about 2 miles the message “Active Handling Warming Up” message came on the DIC and didn’t go out. After about 10 miles the message “Service Active Handling” message came on. Naturally I am taking it to the Chevy dealer under warranty but the soonest I could get it in is tomorrow.
This has been bugging me all night. Anybody have an idea what could be causing this?

Go in and check the code ... this is probaly a History code and the DIC needs to be reset before the system will go back to normal. But i would check the Code first.

The “Active Handling Warming Up” message is normal (I've seen it a few times but can't remember the exact circumstances under which it appears) but normally it is closely followed by an "Warmup Complete" (or something like that). I believe that it's doing some kind of self-calibration during that period. I also seem to recall that a certain amount of driving in a straight line is required for the warm-up to occur. I recall a post from some guy who was autocrossing, and the 'warming up' message was significantly delayed because all the turns made the system unable to calibrate.
Pull your codes and see what they say. Was your driving time all in the 'twisties'?

Thanks guys. I won't be able to pull the codes until tonight but to answer your question Jerry, I was driving on interstate so it was straight and level.

Got the codes from the PCM. U1096 - Loss of communication with IPC. U1064 - Loss of communication with BCM. U1255 - Generic loss of serial communication. U1016 - Loss of communication with PCM. I took it into Chevy this morning. I will let everyone know what they said.
