My horn on my 99 FRC just quit working. I checked the fuse. It's o.k. I swapped out the horn mini relay in the engine compartment fuse box w/ the fog light mini relay and it started working, checked it 4 or 5 times. Today, on the way to the office i checked it and it wouldn't work. Any ideas? Thanks for your response in advance. I'll be away from the computer until tomorrow and then will check all your comments. Thanks Update:
Three times today horn has quit working, started working, and quit working again. If its the contacts in the steering wheel is it a fairly easy job to do yourself or should i take it to the dealer. The car is still in warrenty, just don't like to leave it. Thanks :flag
If the horns are drawing excess current they will burn out the relay contacts. Horns used to have an adjustment screw on them, I don't know if the C5 does. Try checking the current draw for each horn and compare to each other; just unplug the car wires to the horns and use a wire directly to the battery or battery charger. If the horns have an adjustment screw you can place a rag into the horn and adjust the screw with 12 volts applied to them.
