Default headlights up no light, down they light????

Can any one help me, I was having trouble with the passenger side motor on the headlight assy. Took it apart, gear had already been replaced with a brass gear and looked good. Re assembled everything and at first the drivers light would come up and on and the passenger side would go down and be on. I reset the arm attached to the lift motor and got the headlights so the both go up together but when they come up they go off and when they go down they light up. Any ideas???
Thanks

Sounds like both motor arm mechanisms are in the wrong positions. Try this simple idea of mine and hopefully someone will have a better idea. Make sure the twilight mode is turned off in the DIC. Then turn off the headlamp switch. Disconnect the actual motor connectors. Manually turn the **** and lower the lamps all the way to the closed position. Turn off the ignition. Re-connect the motor connectors. Turn on the headlamps with the switch and see if they both come up and on.
