The transmission case on my 03 cracked and had it replaced with a corvette transmission from GM. Since then I have no power like I had and is not shifting correctly and I hear a squeaking noise coming from the rear and when the car is not level as I am driving, like when I go over a speed bump or turn a corner it sounds like the body is cracking.
My car was modified and was extremly fast, it has a 373 rear end and maybe had a shift kit. Would a shift kit make the car extremly fast and was not replaced and explains the no power? or needs to be programed or maybe I just got a bad tranny. I don't want to take it back to the shop that did the work for many reasons. One of them is, they told me that my struts are leaking and would cost me $4,900.00 and they charged me close to $1,000.00 when I had a $100.00 deductable and then tried to get me to sell them my car if I couldn't afford to pay the $1,000.00, anyway if someone could recomend a shop in the north west Phoenix area, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks
And if you paid by credit card you can dispute the charge if your facts are in order.
And to address your power question, I've never heard of a shift kit adding power.

Wow! That is a fast response, thanks!
I had a charge for a battery which was $135.00 and the towing was like $110.00 and the rest was, for shop towels and profit! I wanted my car so I paid. The owner called me just before I picked the car up and asked me if I had thought about selling it and of course I said absolutly not and told me to please call him if I do decide to sell it.
I didn't think that the shift kit would give it any more hp, but just wanted to make sure.
I am sorta new here and would like to use your advise and post it to get referrals, how do I do that?

Please clarify the deductible comment. What type of insurance/warranty do you have???
AND, was the amount paid by credit card? If you call your credit card company claiming you were overcharged then they will reverse the charge and the burden of proof is on the merchant to justify the charge.
If he double dipped, ie charged the warranty company less the deductible then charged you HE is in trouble.

I don't know about the shop, but if the old tranny had a shift kit it raises the shift points and that can feel like more power. If the past owner had a shift kit installed and a 373 rear end then probally it had a looser convertor which will feel like more power. Maybe the shop installed a stock convertor. Both of those will make it feel like less power.
Unfortunately I paid the deductable in cash. My warranty is a 36,000 mile or 36 month with the standard $100.00 deductable per claim. It's called the Portfolio Elite Protection Plan F, Superior Coverage. I think he was going to double dip because he told me that he called the claims department and they told him that the struts/shocks are not covered, but when I got home and read my contract, I read that it does cover them. Maybe he was going to charge me and the warranty company. If I was a guy, I'm sure it would have been cheaper and covered...Lol

It was a third party warranty program. They will only pay the parts and labor per their "own" rate book, not the shop. It usually is nowhere near the shop's rate.
I got scammed too on my old truck with the same type of deal. Dont ever go with those 3rd party warranty, not worth it for the price.
Thanks for the info, I will definately shop around when I buy my next corvette, which will be new so it should come with the GM Warranty, right?
I can't really complain too much, so far they have paid 500 for an alternator, 1400 for new air conditioning and 4600 for the tranny and I paid 3500 for the plan.
