Default going catless

will it make the crack pop on decel increase or decrease. I am not getting a x-pipe just gutting. Also I have all the bolt ons and am getting heads/cam at ARE next week. I want as much crack pop as I can get and I herd someone say the pop is from unspent gas hitting the cats and without them there will be no cracking. I also herd it would increase it drastically. Whats your opinion or facts that you have. would have done a poll but dont know how and am too lazy right now to look. Thanks for any help.

I have no cats + x-pipe and mine still pops and cracks.....not nearly as much, but it still does it  I personally don't like the popping and cracking....I think it makes the car sound like a land yacht with an exhaust leak, but to each his own

It has nothing to do with unspent gas  Whoever told you this is just plain wrong... It has everything to do with the design of the systems and internal pressures usually upon deceleration....

Abraham:
Without the x you will most likely see quite a bit of pop..Really depends also what exhaust you are running in back...In my setup, I get zero pop at all speeds because of the custom x which i have towards the back and not right after the headers! Anyhow you will see a significant difference in loudness..Enjoy :)
