Default High stall TC Faster?

Can someone tell me, i understand from a stop how a High stall TC would be faster as you build up rpm closer to your peak torqe. but if i shift by hand and keep my rpm up and other than from a stop would a stock TC be about the same going through the gears as both are locked up

The convertor takes the place of a clutch, if you had a stick unit you would have to try and releases clutch the same every time to get the most gain from your performance engine with a performance convertor it brings the car into the powerband it needs to be in to make the car launch hard every time the same way ,to do it yourself will work if you leave the same every time there is a lot of foot brakers out there but the fact it a performance convertor means that it has work done to it that the stock unit does not offer most have furnaced brazed fins , bearings in place of thrust washers ,and better sprags hope this helps some I am new to the forum

The higher the stall the more loose the car will feel at low rpm.

It will continue slipping until it reaches stall speed. I have a 2900 and going up my driveway it feels very sluggish. If I had a 3500 or 4400 I might have to floor it to get up the driveway LOL.

There are a lot of posts on converters on this forum. Read though them and then make your choice.

If you have dyno sheets ,I think around 500 rpm before or no more than 500 rpm after the car starts to make power would work nicely

The higher the stall the more loose the car will feel at low rpm.
Stall speed isn't really the only factor determining looseness. The torque multiplication or stall torque ratio (STR) is also important. The higher this value is, the tighter the converter will feel. Lower rear end gearing will have the same effect. An example illustrating this diference might be the Yank ST3500 and SY3500 converters, one tight and one loose.

I now have this mental image in my head of the look on Alina's face as REDGAR rolls into the driveway at 5000 RPM...
