Just curious if anyone has ported their stock intake and done any type of dyno/track testing (rest of engine pretty much stock).
Obviously aftermarket is popular but if someone was on a budget..
Got to thinking after porting the one on my 5.3 last night.
Didnt get too agressive as Im time limited but shouuuld pick things up.
Id hope. If not oh well.
Very doubtful you would make any measurable performance gains. But it would be awesome if you wanted to dyno before and after and report back so we could all learn at your expense.
LSx intake nonethelss figured someone here has to have tried it. (its on a 5.3)
If there was a gain to be had guessing I wouldnt feel it on a heavy vehicle.
Once I do some real modding down the road should compliment things Id hope.
Went ahead and did the TB while I was there.
Tempted to bypass the coolant, better stop and put it back together before any more bright ideas come to mind.
Curious to see if theres any diff at all.

WAs concerned the intake wasnt torqued properly (no in lb tq wrench) guessing its around 15-20 ft lbs?
Seems same as before til about 3000 or so it comes on a little harder then it did when it initially hits the powerband. Didnt really get into it no room. Butt dyno says worth it but who knows. Just a truck anyway.
