I just got a "Service Active Handling" message on my display. I searched the forum and learned how to check DTC codes.
I have
28-TCS C1288H
60-IPC U1160H
A0-LDCM U1064H
B0-RFA U1000H
B0-RFA U1064H
After checking these codes I started and drove the car. No more messages.
Are any of these serious?
Any particular weather conditions this happens in? My 2000 used to display the "Service Active Handling" message if it was wet outside or raining. One of the wiring harnesses apparantly is susceptible to chaffing, and when it does, you get moisture in the wiring and it throws this code. Took it in and had it back the same day.
Re: Service Active Handling message C1288 (MagRedVette)
The weather was dry and in the 80's.
Also regarding Sully C5 response: Since when I restarted the car, if the error message doesn't come up, does it change to H for history since it is no longer 'C' for current?

To quote the text...
"There are two kinds of DTCs, "Current" and "History," designated with a letter suffix, "C" or "H". A current code indicates that the malfunction is present in the system whose module is displaying data. A history code indicates a problem existed in that module sometime in the last 40 or 50 ignition cycles. When not accompanied by a current code of the same number, it is possible it's evidence of a previous problem. Now solved, that was not removed by clearing codes. More likely is that a history code indicates an intermittent malfunction."
There's a TSB 01-05-25-004 for this. Just had mine uploaded at dealer today. I would get the DIC message every couple of weeks . No particular weather of temp. Although I never have driven in the rain. Oh BTW, do you have a pinging during hard acceleration? That disappeared after the PCM upload...GeorgeC :)
There is an ABS updated recalibration on 2001-02 for a false code 1288,and it is addressed in a TSB. :yesnod:Like the PCM,the ABS can be reflashed on the 2001-02,and the reflash has nothing to do with a PCM update :nonod:
