Default What do I have? LED interior lighting question...

Hi all,

Picked up a set of LED interior replacement bulbs from a fellow club member a little while ago and was getting around to installing them today. When I purchased them there was no detail as to what I was receiving so I thought I would simply start by using the process of elimination. Get to the easy lights first (map lights in the mirror) match up the bulbs and so on and so fourth. I noticed that i do not have replacements for the map lights. This has led to me rethink my strategy and look for some guidance. Can anyone help determine what bulbs these LED's should be replacing?

There are 2 panel/card type LED's and 5 wedge style that all seem to be the same. Really appreciate some feedback if anyone can help me out before I start ripping panels and trim out for no reason at all.

Heres a couple of pics of what I have received:

Default led lights

The two wedge like ones look like puddle lights that would go on the bottom of each door after you remove the rubber on the bottom then they are attached to your footwell lights, you can search the forum on how to install. The other leds look like they replace the footwell bulb and rear compartment bulbs. and you have one left over.

Thanks for the reply, not sure what this means tho? Are you referring to the panel style? Are these the courtesy lights in the door panels youre referring too?

two wedge for the foot wells, 2 for the rear cargo, 1 left over - possible under hood? will look at that but still not sure what those panel LEDs are for.....

Thought I was buying an interior lighting kit, looks like theres a ton of bulbs missing for the dash, HVAC and console, IDC, etc...

*edit*

extra wedge is not for under hood, panel LED has the right connectors for under hood but it does not appear to fit.

Mystery continues with the 3 remaining phantom bulbs.

I see what you mean, very nice mod. Not so sure thats what these are for, only reason I say that is because they have loop connectors soldered into them so my assumption is they are supposed to just be plug and play. I could be totally wrong but the kit was for OEM replacement lighting so I have my doubts.

If I cant figure out what they are for I may just end up using them to do this mod.

Appreciate it, thanks rhladek!

noob question here.......in that link you posted I noticed that the OP said he peeled the 3M tape off the LEDs. Is he referring to the yellow dots on the panel? I thought those were the actual bulbs. should I be looking to remove those yellow dots?

mystery solved....

the extra LED wedge is for the glove, had a look today. that solves that.

The two panels I was told would likely be the hatch area of a C6.
