What could be worse...
Having a '96 Vette in the shop at the same time and driving a Dodge Dakota P/U as a rental.
The '99 went to the dealer in Virginia for a broken 5th gear synchronizer 4 days after purchase and has been in for a week and one day, today.
The '96 was already scheduled to go in last Friday to Tony's Corvette in Maryland for a check-up and then to the paint shop this week.
And I live in DC.
I'm also learning the difference between a current production car and out of production car. The parts for the '99 are taking the slow route to get to the dealer. But the parts for the '96 (through owner neglect, there were many) were readily available.
The good side is I'm not paying for the repairs for the '99, not even the rental.
The bad side is that I'm paying an arm and a couple of legs for the repairs for the '96. But that was my fault. I didn't drive it much during the 2 and a half years of ownership because I took the subway to work and I never got it checked out when I bought it.
The good side is soon, I'll have 2 great cars. :)
The bad side is I'll have to sell the '96...because I'm going to drive the '99.
These are trying times.
