Once installed, because of the shape of the tubes, it looks like it would be nearly impossible to change some of the plugs. Any problems with that? Also, because of the short length of the wires, has anyone experienced burning? Were the performance gains and improvements in the sound (if any) worth the bucks? Thanks. – C.
I've heard the the routing of the tubes generates tons of heat and get really close to the plug wires and causes them to burn. I don't know from first hand experience, just heard it through the grapevine.
Agree with all the above except the burning wires. Have not had a problem in this area. Use a high temp wire though. I have the B&B Shorties, B&B Route 66 cat back, Dr. Gas X pipe and A&A by pass and the sound is great. Low rumble at start up and idle, great sound at WOT. I never liked the raspy sound of other systems. With the B&B shorties, 3.42 gear, and Yank 3500 torque converter I dynoed at 316 Hp. Not bad for 98 A4 with 3.42 gears.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll pass. For the type of racing I do (open road), I think my stock SS manifold will do although I do envy that low growl AT idle you guys talk about. We've been over 165 with more left and it purred like a kitten. I think tires would be more prudent than headers. Thanks again. - C.
