Any idea how to get rid of this message? The sensors are on some kids Camaro.

You get the sensors off the kids Camaro, put them back on your car (if it is the 2000 shown on your profile) and program them to your car. That's the only way to get rid of the message pre 2001. You can push reset each time you turn on the car and it will temporarily clear the warning, but will come back when you start the car again. It cannot be programmed out on a 2000.

press reset to clear the message. there is a good chance that when you scroll through to check your tire pressure you are going to get XXX for pressure too. Mine is doing the same thing. batteries are dead in the senders. corvette don got me a good deal on new sensors and tomorrow i get to go get raped by tire kingdom to get them installed.

Damn it.

I'll have to trade it in for a 2001 I guess.

I'll tell the kid with the Camaro to make sure the batteries are fresh.

Bring up the codes on the DIC,go through the codes till you get to the last one BO-RFA I think,it'll say "1 code"-hit reset to clear it.
It'll stay gone till you drive over 50 mph for about 20 miles at a stretch, then it comes back-
Not a permanent fix,but if you're driving in town all week, you won't have to clear it every time you start the car-only after you hit the freeway for 15 minutes or so.
**At least that's how it works on my 98-worth a shot

But then, when you start the car, it will say lf, rf, lr, rr tire xxx and you'll have to clear those, too. He has no sensors. Is that the way your's works?

I don't have sensors either, and I only get "Serv Tire Mon Sys" after 20 mins on the freeway, nothing else.
Like I said, mine's a '98,and the later models may be different,or it may be that receiving no sensor input at all eliminates the individual wheel messages.
If I check pressures through the DIC,it brings up each wheel, but the pressure info is just blank.(as would be expected)

This might be a stupid question, but can you run a 2001 PCM on a 2000? If so, would that make a difference on tuning out the code?

Is there some reason you don't want the sensors?

I'd have to buy new sensors and get them installed. That's the major reason.

I don't really care if I have the sensors or not other than making the error message go away. They didn't work much under 30 psi anyway.

If I purchased a used 2001 PCM and sold my 2000 PCM, it wouldn't really cost anything. This is assuming the PCM is compatible. Tuning would cost something but I need to get a tune in the next year or so anyway.

The sensors do work below 30psi, and 30 psi is what you should be running, they also tell you if you have a flat, and warn you if you are losing pressure before you have a flat.
I have read that a 2000 is not interchangeable with newer pcm's, but someone who knows will have to address it.
As far as I know, the best permanent solution is to get the sensors, but I hope someone can help you get rid of the warning.

I found the part number for the sensor, 25981210. $93.45/each +shipping or $183.24/each at your local dealer.

Then the nuts are extra. 15234846 is $3.61/each +shipping or $7.00 at the dealer.

$388.24 for parts +shipping or $760.96 if purchased from the dealer.

Then to install them, I'd guess at least $25 per wheel/tire to dismount, install and remount.

Total cost would be around $488-$861 depending where you purchased parts.

I don't think swaping the PCM would do anything because the 99-02 PCM is the same model.

One of the forum vendors (Tire Rack) has them for $66 ($264 for all 4).

From previous threads it looks like they are made by Schrader. They make the originals that GM used.

You do not have to dis mount if the guy is good all you have to do is on a rim clam tire changer brake the bead and hold it and there is a lot on room and only take 15 sec to change. No balance or dis mount. Unless you want them to. I have a set for a 06 if any one needs a set, 100 dollars and they are yours
