More Fob Problems
I now have Five 1998 Fobs. All new batteries - all programmed properly. They still activate the lock/unlock when they are in the vicinity of the car or on the kitchen table without touching the buttons - passive is OFF on the fobs. Car has 4 month old Red Top Battery. What can I do besides getting a 2000 Fob?????

I found that good old fashioned pocket dust will activate the passive mode even if the switch is turned off. Blowing out the dust and sliding the switch several times for mine, solves that issue. It comes back about once a year.

Additionally, you can use some contact cleaner to spray on the passive slide switch and slide it back and forth rapidly to clean off any corrosion or dust. The only permanent fix is to get the 2000 fob or figure some way to disable the passive switch in the 98 fobs.
