So after 11 years..... FIXED
My column lock finally failed. I haven't decided yet whether it was good timing or not. Started backing out of my driveway and got the dreaded pull key message. So I got to drive my wife's Saturn Vue to work.
If anyone else is putting off the CLB - use me as an example not to.
Now I have to get one ordered and figure out how to get it unlocked.

First off I want to thank Corvettes of Houston for the incredible fast service - even over a holiday weekend. I ordered my CLB on Friday and it showed up on Tuesday.
The lock was stuck. I had to violently shake the steering wheel about 7 times - each time plugging the lighter adapter in to attempt retract the pin. On the 7th time I heard it pull back. I put in the CLB and everything was back to normal!
It took less than an hour start to finish.
