Default C6Z06 Slave on C5 Coupe

About to install a c6z slave on my 2000 coupe.

I am not concerned about the differences in the hydraulic connections. The problem I am seeing is that the housing of the C6z slave is almost an inch taller than the stock unit I took off. I have read many cases of people running this slave on the c5s, but I don't see how. The slave body literally covers a potion of the splined section on the tt input shaft.

Anyone have some insight? How do people run these?

I don't know where you heard that they work; they don't. I have a C6Z slave I wanted to use, due to it's obviously better construction, and there's no way it will fit.

When I replaced the clutch in my 03Z with a LS7 clutch I purchased the correct parts to do the job from Gene Culley (GM Parts House). You have to use a C5 slave. Although I had a perfectly good slave I purchased a new LS6 slave since we had everything apart.

Just to follow up, after some mearusing, I figured out that when installed, the slave would not fit between the tt and the clutch disc. i would have probably broken the disc if i had tried to install the TT. When bolted down to the torque tube, the slave covered up a good portion of the splines on the TT input shaft also. I have an ACT clutch, but the stock disc is very similarly sized, and would not make a difference. The c6z slave body is literally almost an inch longer than the c5 slave body. I ended up waiting until the holiday weekend was over and getting a stock replacement.

Again, i was trying to install a c6z06 slave on my 2000 c5 coupe.

That is where I read that it can be done.

I have no idea how he made this work. In my opinion, without a C6 flywheel, clutch disc and pp, bellhousing and/or torque tube, there is absolutely no way the c6z slave will fit in a C5.
