I am going to be adding 3.42 gears and possibly a TC. I would like one that acts as stock as possible. I would like to not even no it's there unless I want to use it. If that makes sense. Was thinking a Pro torque 2400. What are your guys thought.
When your at a light does it require any more gas to get the car moving, maybe someone can explain the basics behind the Torque converter.
I just bought 3.42's and am looking for a TC now. It is hard to make a decision. I don't want too extreeme of a converter, probally under 3000 stall.
The PT2400 is the one to get to keep the stock feel and have great tourque off the line and from a slow roll. Do a Search on "Torque Converters' in the C5 Tech section. Search under archived topics. there is all kinds of stuff there and a few on the pro Torque.
I think the Pt-2400 will be the one. There is a shop here in tampa that will charge $2400 for the 3.42 gears and the pt-2400 installed. Does that seem like a good price.

Not bad, $2200-2300 was my figure. That should include the T/C, Gear, tax and installation. Now what about programming, if that includes adjusting the shift points, that is a super deal?
I just had my PT2400 installed with 390s and a reprogram. WCC did the install and when all was said and done I paid a little under 3,000. A bit more than 2400 but not sure if that included the reprogram. It broke out as 1695 for gears and reprogram, 600 for the Converter and 700 for the install. Maybe a little pricey but a very clean install. No noise at all even at high speed. Been up to 168 with the new gears.
