Long cranking C5... help

Long cranking C5... help
I've seen other posts with a slow starting problems. I've been trouble shooting following their lead, but I am beyond my capabilities and apparently my local trusted mechanic's also??
It turns over at least 10 times. I stop, try again, then it fires up promptly like the good old days. The fuel filter was replaced last year. Last week, I replaced the fuel pump as many figured out their check valves were faulty. Doesn't seems to have fixed it. Are there any other suggestions before I go to a Dealership with better diagnostic capabilities then my mechanic? The service manual goes into depth on this, but I don't have the scan tools or understanding to follow.
