I see bad reaction times posted all the Time.. I was wondering...exactly what light are you using to trigger from???
I was always told that the human body has built in time delay and that must be taken into consideration. So.....I was told that if you have a slow reaction time then as soon as you see the last yellow light up...punch it..
According to the experts... your built in delay will put you right smack in the green.
Not sure I would want to have my eyes closed on a race track :D
I use the third light method myself and always see .5-.7 R/Ts
Just have to have your foot (or feet) in motion by that light....

Each light has 3 stages, top...when it is first begining to iluminate, middle...when it is fully lit, and bottom.....when it is fading out.
We leave at the top of the 3rd bulb.....common is .520's to .540's with at least one .500 every few weeks (and the odd .498! :D and .620 falling in there from time to time!) When we put 17 year old Jeff Keen in, he is consistant .505-.515's......wish I was that good!
Some of my cars had delay boxes, so I would leave (so to speek) as soon as I saw the first orange, you dial in the amount of delay until the box lets the trans brake release. After a few runs you have it dialed in so you are running fairly consistant .510-.540 lights. The main reason, I posted here is that I have a reaction time simulator that you can download from my web site, it is only 1 meg in size and is kind of fun.
When the last yellow hits I punch it. I get in the .5xx range after a few runs. It just takes some practice to see what works best for you

And for those that may look at this thread without any drag racing background, some moron decided that the reaction time should be measured from the last yellow light. A .500 is perfect, any thing lower is before the green light.
